Knights, Newman Buzz Alacranes, 1-0 Sunday, June 10th , 1888 Elliot Newman had the Almendares Alacranes dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 1-0 shutout performance for the Spanish Town Knights. He gave up 3 hits, issued no walks and had 2 strikeouts. Almendares hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery. "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point," opposing manager Ángel Rodriguez said. "We just never figured him out."
