Liga Quisqueya Names Top Skipper

The Leogane Chevaux Rouges called a press conference to announce that field manager Orlando Cuevas had been named Liga Quisqueya Manager of the Year earlier in the day. Staffers congratulated the 45-year-old baseball guru as he approached the podium.
"This city has allowed me to craft a winning ball club," said Cuevas. "When you take on a new job, there's always some adjustment period, but everyone here has been cooperative. From the bat boys on up. Here's to many more successful seasons for the Leogane Chevaux Rouges!"
Cuevas led Leogane to a 57-40 record this year and a first place finish in the Liga Quisqueya Tour Francais.

LOC Manager of the Year Award Given to Peralta
Monday, August 27th , 1888
An outstanding season by the Vultures garnered their manager Iván Peralta the Liga Occidental Manager of the Year award for 1888. He led Kingston to a 64-32 record this year and a first place finish in the Liga Occidental English Circuit.
Even so, Peralta seemed less than thrilled. "I don't give a darn about the award," he growled to reporters, "I just want this team to win championships!"
