Leopardos Come Up Short at Bayamo, 3-2
The Bayamo Rafagas eked out a 3-2 win versus the Santa Clara Leopardos at Parque de Bayamo. Nobody did more than pitcher Elía Chavira. He was terrific. Chavira, now 8-7, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. With the win, Bayamo goes to 26-23, while the Leopardos fall to 25-24.

Luis Echeverría, the Bayamo third baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 3-1, Rafagas. For the game, Echeverría went 1-4.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Echeverría.
