Luling Lavender Stockings starter Daniel Jaso was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Tyler Pecan Kings, 5-4. The first-place Lavender Stockings improved to 37-23.

Haffy Beattie, the 1894 Champion of Texas winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Beattie contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning to put Luling up, 5-3.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Beattie told the Luling News.
