Coyle Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Thursday, September 16th , 1897 The hitting streak for Camaguey second baseman Jasper Coyle now stands at 20 games, but the Tinajones dropped today's contest 10-9 to the Santiago Soneros. Coyle went 2-for-4 in the game. "Things went well for me personally today," he said later. "I got 2 hits and the streak keeps going. But we didn't win the game." Jasper Coyle grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. This year Coyle is hitting .305, produced 38 RBIs and 2 home runs, scored 36 times and gotten on base at a .358 rate. |
