Pizano Crowned Top LH Hitter in September Friday, October 1st , 1897 September's Liga Hostos Batter of the Month trophy was claimed by first baseman José Pizano of the Ponce Leones. Last month he compiled a .447 batting average with 5 home runs, 28 RBIs, 32 runs scored and a .519 on-base percentage. This year Pizano is batting .321 with 11 home runs and 95 RBIs.
