Escobar Tosses 11-0 Shutout for Barranquitas Tuesday, September 14th , 1897 In a remarkable performance, Barranquitas Proceres starter Gerardo Escobar beat the Yabucoa Azucareros 11-0 in an impressive 3-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Proceres hurler finished with 1 strikeout and 1 walk. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Yabucoa manager Cástico Beberra said following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
