July's TLEA Top Pitcher is Gulls Medina Wednesday, August 1st , 1888 When Benigno Medina took the hill in July, he was in charge. The Galveston starter never let the Eastern Association batters get a foothold against him. For his peerless performance, he came away with an impressive 8-0 record and the Pitcher of the Month award. The talented Gulls hurler made 8 starts, worked 75.2 innings, permitted 57 base hits, and struck out 62 while putting up a 2.38 ERA. Thus far this season, Medina has worked 286 innings with 213 strikeouts en route to a 19-13 record and a 2.17 ERA. |
