Rivas Top Hitter in TLWA in July Wednesday, August 1st , 1888 In July, Francisco Rivas let his bat do the talking for him. The Marfa right fielder smacked the ball at a .321 average as he laid claim to the Western Association Batter of the Month award. He rapped no home runs, drove in 14 and scored 14 runs.
