Western Association Names Rookie of Month Sunday, July 1st , 1888 An outstanding June earned Tyler Jordan the Rookie of the Month Award in the Western Association. When his name was penciled in to start on the Marfa lineup card, it meant trouble for opposing teams. For the month of June the 25-year-old Jordan recorded a 4-2 won-lost mark with a 2.17 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 66.1 innings. For the season Jordan has logged 10 wins and 12 losses and struck out 174 batters in 213 innings while compiling a 2.07 ERA. |
