Alleghenys Remsen Decides to Retire Sunday, August 12th , 1888 The Pittsburgh Alleghenys will not have the services of Jack Remsen next season. The 37-year-old has announced he will retire at the conclusion of this year. "I've reached my best before date," the Brooklyn, New York native quipped. His numbers show Remsen is carrying a .243 lifetime batting average with 4 home runs and 322 RBIs. |
