Werewolves Pull Off Thrilling 6-5 Win in Extras
The Los Lunas Werewolves topped the Taos Artists, 6-5, in Border League action at Artists Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Los Lunas pitcher and Clearlake, California, native Mike McDaniel. In 12 innings, McDaniel surrendered 11 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 5 runs. The 'W' lifts Los Lunas's record to 62-45.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Steve England came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Taos pitcher Jonathan Hinson, he hit a 1-2 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Los Lunas on top, 6-5.

"We had a chance to win," said Taos manager Ben Wilkins, "but we didn't get it done."
