Carboneros Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Nuevo Laredo Colibris and Piedras Negras Carboneros.

Piedras Negras got a valiant performance from pitcher Sílvano Flores, but it wasn't enough to beat the Nuevo Laredo Colibris. Nuevo Laredo won the game, 5-4. Flores threw 9.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Elián Ramos earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts in 9 innings of work.

The Colibris benefited from a costly error in the top of the fourth. With Jorge Gómez at bat and Nuevo Laredo leading 1-0, the Piedras Negras miscue allowed Nuevo Laredo to plate 2 and take the lead, 3-0.

"The most important thing is that we won," Gómez said.

The first-place Colibris raised their record to 61-33.
