Late Rally by Enjambre Locks Up 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring clash between Samalayuca and Villa Ahumada, pitcher Gabe Castañeda was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned accolades in the 2-1 win. Victor Molina earned the save, his 2nd in 2 tries. The Enjambre raised their record to 53-33.
Had Anselmo Salas not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Salas hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Enjambre.
"Runs were at a premium," said Samalayuca manager Tony Starkes.
