Dukes Reel Off Another Win
The Albuquerque Dukes racked up a win at Artists Grounds, bumping off the Taos Artists, 5-4. John Madding, who started for Albuquerque, pitched effectively for his team. Madding, now 15-12, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 13 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 4 runs. At 47-35, the Dukes have a slim two-game lead in the Border League New Mexico Circuit.

In the top of the fifth, the Dukes took a 5-1 lead when Aaron Rusin hit a sacrifice fly.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Albuquerque manager Cedric Lucas.
