Ciudad Juarez Topples Villa Ahumada, 8-4
|
Ciudad Juarez starter Wilson Aguilar pitched well against the Villa Ahumada Menonitas at Villa Ahumada Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a win, 8-4. Aguilar picked up the win for Ciudad Juarez, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 11-11. Alfonso Vélez earned the save, his 3rd in 3 tries.
Peleo Hernández dealt the Menonitas a blow in the top of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Ciudad Juarez leading 5-4, Hernández, who finished 3rd in the LRB-LF in RBI with 59 in 1894, hit a full count slider for a run-scoring single.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Aguilar said. "We did a good job of that today."
At 34-41, the Nortenos find themselves in third place in the Liga Fronteriza División Chihuahua.
