The Samalayuca Enjambre went down to defeat to Sancho Rodrigues and his Ciudad Juarez teammates. The final score was 3-2 in favor of the Nortenos. Rodrigues got the win, improving to 4-7. He allowed 6 hits and walked 3 over 9.1 innings. Rodrigues allowed 2 runs. Alfonso Vélez recorded the save, his 1st.
Ciudad Juarez used the timely hitting of Peleo Hernández to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Nortenos on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every loss stings," said Samalayuca manager Tony Starkes. "This one is no exception."
Ciudad Juarez has a record of 14-20, placing them last in the Liga Fronteriza División Chihuahua.
