Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Estadio de las Cotorras.

San Juan third baseman Aldo Domínguez contributed to his team's 8-6 win over the Rio Grande Cotorras. Domínguez, who finished 3rd in the LB in batting average with .345 in 1885, went 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Metropolitanos. José Muñoz got the win, improving to 26-19. He pitched 9 innings, giving up 11 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Alberto Bernal earned save number 5 this season.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Domínguez delivered big-time for San Juan, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Eleuterio Vásquez. The game-changing hit put the Metropolitanos on top, 7-5.

"There's no victory at bargain basement prices," Domínguez told a reporter after the game.
