The Yabucoa Azucareros took Carolina pitcher Juan Martín's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Estadio de Yabucoa. The final score had Yabucoa getting past the Gigantes, 5-4. Martín went 9.1 innings and allowed 5 runs, striking out 5. Picking up the win was Rolando Soto. He went 10 innings, allowing 4 runs on 15 hits. The right--hander struck out 3 and walked 3. The Azucareros go to 60-75, putting them second in the Liga Hostos Este.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the tenth, an error by the Gigantes allowed the Azucareros to score the winning run.
