It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Ricardo García today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Campo de los Macabeos and paced the Gigantes to a 13-0 win over the Trujillo Alto Macabeos.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Carolina shortstop told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Ricardo García singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th and flied out in the 9th.
