Chavira Dominates Camaguey
Elía Chavira subdued the Camaguey Tinajones, 9-0, pitching a 4-hit gem for the Bayamo Rafagas at Parque de Bayamo.

"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Bayamo skipper Miqueas Torres said afterward.

Chavira registered 4 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in his superb performance.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Camaguey manager Roberto Merlo after the defeat.

This season Chavira has a 7-6 mark in 15 starts with a 2.36 ERA. He has given up 119 hits in 137 innings, struck out 33 and issued 54 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .230 batting average against him.
