The Holguin Pericos outlasted the Bayamo Rafagas in an extra-inning thriller.

The Bayamo Rafagas got a sterling performance from center fielder Daniel Ramírez, but the Holguin Pericos still prevailed, 6-5. Ramírez went 4 for 5 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Holguin reliever Eligio Mercado picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Matías Villarreal shouldered the loss.

Marcos Huerta drove in one run for Holguin. The 28-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the 11th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Matías Villarreal. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

In postgame comments, Huerta said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."

The win puts Holguin at 1-1.
