Kennedy Breezes to Shutout Victory
Downey Kennedy handcuffed the Cardiff Arcadians at Arcadians Field today, coming away with a 7-hit, complete game shutout.

"I had everything working for me out there," the Newport Stevedores left-hander said later. "I used every one of my pitches, hit both sides of the plate really well and felt like I could do whatever I wanted."

With his stuff working, Kennedy had little trouble with the Arcadians and led the Stevedores to victory, 4-0. He recorded 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in an impressive performance.

On his stats sheet for the year Kennedy shows a 17-11 record, 26 starts, 232.2 innings, 98 strikeouts and a 2.67 ERA.
