A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Newport Stevedores and Cardiff Arcadians.

The Newport Stevedores picked up a win at Arcadians Field, knocking off the Cardiff Arcadians, 6-4. Starting pitcher Douglas Stevens was a big reason why. Newport's record now stands at 30-23, placing them second in the All-Team Circuit Undeb Pel-fas Cymru.

Newport third baseman Martin Smith gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the fifth inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd and the Stevedores leading 3-0, Smith hit a 2-run double.

"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Stevens.
