The Galveston Gulls and Nacogdoches Roaches were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Nacogdoches Roaches topped the Galveston Gulls by a score of 13-6. Leading the way was right fielder Carlos de Jesús. de Jesús was 3 for 6 with a triple and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Roaches. The winning pitcher was Teodoro Velásquez. He tossed 145 pitches over 9 innings, allowing 6 runs on 11 hits.

In the bottom of the sixth, de Jesús put his team in front with his 15th double of the season. The 2-run double, which came against Jerry Trowsdale, made it 7-5, Nacogdoches.

"We've got a great group of guys," de Jesús said, "and we're having fun right now."
