Roberto Gómez made an impact in the 4-3 Nacogdoches win over Luling. Gómez, who led the ETXA in OPS with 1.001 last year, went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Nacogdoches is first in the Association of Eastern Texas Galveston Circuit with a record of 46-29.

Gómez had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count slider from Daniel Jaso, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Roaches a 4-2 lead. It was the 20th double of the year for Gómez.

After the game, Nacogdoches manager Joe Moffet applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
