Yodelers Suffer 3-2 Loss to Alpinists
The Beaumont Alpinists picked up a win at Yodelers Field, taking down the New Braunfels Yodelers, 3-2. Starting pitcher Andrónico Alfaro was a big reason why. Alfaro got the win, improving to 9-6. He allowed 10 hits and walked 4 over 9 innings. Alfaro allowed 2 runs. Beaumont, at 20-25, holds down last place in the Association of Eastern Texas Galveston Circuit.

With runs few and far between, the Alpinists had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Beaumont came in the top of the fifth inning, when second baseman Urbano Morejón delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Matt Decoste and made the score 3-1, Alpinists. Morejón went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles.
