The Las Piedras Artesanos did just enough to sneak past the Yabucoa Azucareros, 2-1, at Parque de los Artesanos. Las Piedras pitcher Mamerto González, in particular, had a standout performance. González, now 3-5, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 2, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. The win moves Las Piedras to a record of 7-12.

Had Honesto Villanueva not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Villanueva hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Artesanos.
