Big Day for Hernández: Swats 5 Hits
It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Rogelio Hernández of the Wichita Falls Yardmen.

The Wichita Falls left fielder gave it his all and dominated Odessa Cowhands pitching today at Cowhands Park, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Cowhands going home the winner, 6-5.

"There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Hernández said later. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead."

Rogelio Hernández singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

In his 1897 season totals, Hernández has no home runs, .327 BA, .411 OBP, 28 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
