In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The 5-4 Lubbock win over Wichita Falls was due in large part to Shane Thomas. The Layabouts catcher was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. The loss makes Wichita Falls 36-29.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Foster Parson came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Wichita Falls pitcher Abhikhyana Vipperla, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Lubbock on top, 5-4.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Lubbock manager Trick McSorley.
