Ghost Lights Knock Off Yardmen, 6-3
|
The Marfa Ghost Lights picked up a win at Ghost Lights Field, knocking off the Wichita Falls Yardmen, 6-3. Starting pitcher Christiansen Goldbaek was a big reason why. Goldbaek went 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 1. His record improves to 7-12. Marfa is third in the Association of Western Texas Odessa Circuit with a record of 23-38.
Ron Barnett hit a run-scoring triple off Mike Bellenger in the bottom of the third, which put the Ghost Lights in front, 1-0. Barnett had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Marfa skipper John Gerlt. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
