Layabouts Need Extra Frames to Get Past Horizons
The Lubbock-Amarillo matchup turned into a real hit parade.

The Lubbock Layabouts topped the Amarillo Horizons, 12-10, with shortstop José González playing a big role. González went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times for the Layabouts in the win. Lubbock is 17-15 and Amarillo, with the loss, 17-15.

This game was not decided until Ken Barnes came to bat in the top of the tenth. With the bases loaded and one out, the Lubbock third baseman hit a sacrifice fly. The Layabouts took the lead, 11-10.

González told a Lubbock Citizen reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
