The Abilene Preachers withstood an impressive performance by Amarillo first baseman Chris Corbin to defeat the Horizons, 6-5, at Preachers Park. Corbin went 4-6 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Simón Galván got the win, improving to 2-5. He pitched 11 innings, giving up 17 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. At 12-9, the Preachers are currently second in the Association of Western Texas Abilene Circuit.

The Preachers relied on third baseman Louie Rushton for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Rushton.
