Boston Beats Chicago, 3-2
|
The Boston Beaneaters picked up a win at South End Grounds 1894-1915, taking down the Chicago Colts, 3-2. Starting pitcher Bob Black was a big reason why. Boston's record now stands at 81-52, placing them second in the National League.
Bobby Wheelock had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the seventh for Boston. He came through with a 2-run single to put Boston in front, 3-0.
"Other than the game," said Wheelock, "we haven't won anything yet."
