Phillies Lose to Cardinals in Walk Off
The 6-5 St. Louis win over Philadelphia was due largely to Brett Hester. The Cardinals first baseman went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Ed Seward, credited with the win, is now 18-18. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in 9 innings. St. Louis bumps their record to 61-49 with the win.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Phillies allowed the Cardinals to score the winning run.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Philadelphia manager Jamie Perrone. "The effort was great."
