Hoffmeister Leads Pirates to 7-5 Win Over Bridegrooms
The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Brooklyn Bridegrooms, 7-5, at Exposition Park 1891-1908. Pittsburgh third baseman Jesse Hoffmeister had an outstanding performance. He was 4-4 with 2 triples and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Pittsburgh has a record of 42-65, placing them 7th in the National League.

Otto Schomberg, who finished 2nd in the NL in triples with 20 in 1888, aided the Pittsburgh cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the first baseman went 1-4.
