The Vieques Esqueletos got a magnificent effort from pitcher Aníbal Figueroa, who kept San German hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Esqueletos win at Parque de Vieques. The Atleticos fall to 6-11 and continue their lackluster start to the 1897 season.

Román González aided the Vieques cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher drew 1 walk.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped San German manager Sergio García. "Obviously."
