The New York Giants gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.

The New York Giants topped the Chicago Colts by the score of 7-6, with the largest share of the credit going to pitcher Jesse Burkett. Burkett threw 12.0 innings of 9-hit ball for the Giants. Burkett got the win, improving to 7-16. He allowed 9 hits and walked 6 over 12 innings. Burkett allowed 6 runs.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the 12th, an error by the Colts allowed the Giants to score the winning run.

"This game tested our mettle," said Burkett.

The last-place Giants lifted their record to 22-50.
