Wilson Delivers Walk-Off Win for Pirates
|
Pittsburgh left-hander Phil Saylor shut out the Brooklyn Bridegrooms, 1-0. Saylor went the distance for Pittsburgh. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. The Pirates now own a record of 26-39.
Bill Wilson was the walk-off hero for Pittsburgh. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Pirates center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Pittsburgh manager Bill Leisz.
