The performance of Bob Glenalvin proved critical in helping Chicago beat Cincinnati, 9-2. The Colts first baseman went 4 for 5 with 4 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Jocko Flynn got credit for the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 2 runs on 10 hits in 9 innings. The first-place Colts raised their record to 34-23.

It could have been a different outcome for Chicago, had it not been for Bill Lange, the speedster . Lange contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Chicago up, 1-0.
