Giants Get 4-2 Win Versus St. Louis
The New York Giants picked up a win at Polo Grounds 1890-1910, knocking off the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jack Sharrott was an essential part of his team's success. St. Louis is now 12-11.

The Giants got a big hit from right fielder Mike Tiernan. In the bottom of the fifth, Tiernan pounded a 2-run double to left. His 3rd double of the season put the Giants ahead, 4-0.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said New York manager Chris Petty. "It's usually not just one thing."
