The Vieques Esqueletos beat the Culebra Tortugas, 5-3. Vieques pitcher and Fajardo, Puerto Rico, native Aureliano Cavazos led the way. The first-place Esqueletos sport a record of 64-56.

Had Pedro Huizar not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Huizar hit a 2-run double. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Esqueletos.

Huizar told a Vieques Daily reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
