Catano got an elite performance from starting pitcher Rubén Pérez in taking a 2-1 decision over the Rio Grande Cotorras. Catano reliever Omar Cruz picked up the win to move to 3-2. Senén Pérez suffered the loss. Catano goes to 54-65, Rio Grande to 51-67.

Eduardo García was the walk-off hero for Catano. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Guardacostas left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Winning is not something we take for granted," García said.
