Orocovis got a terrific game from left fielder Pedro Serna. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Salinas, 8-7. Serna was 1-2 with a triple and 3 walks, while scoring 2 times. José Prudencio, the winner, goes to 15-3. He allowed 7 runs on 10 hits, with 5 walks and 5 strikeouts over 8 innings. Carlos Chávez got the save, the 1st for him this season.

Ambrosio Camarena provided a timely hit. The Salinas right fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pescadores on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Salinas manager Gabriel Ramos.

The Pescadores now own a record of 80-36.
