Grises Snag 3-2 Win
|
Campo de los Vaqueros was the site of a tense game between the Bayamon Vaqueros and Humacao Grises.
The Humacao Grises topped the Bayamon Vaqueros, 3-2, in Liga Hostos action at Campo de los Vaqueros. The standout performance belonged to Humacao pitcher and Ponce, Puerto Rico, native Luis Barajas. The Grises sit in first place in the Liga Hostos Este with a record of 59-44.
Had Javier Marroquín not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Marroquín hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Grises.
"We were in it," said Bayamon manager Eligio Llerena. "We just didn't score enough runs."
