Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Amigos
Aibonito got a terrific game from center fielder Gilberto Cruz. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Guanica, 6-5. Cruz was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Guanica is first in the Liga Hostos Suroeste with a record of 54-40.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Adelmo López had a chance to be the hero. Aibonito pitcher Tomás Perdomo had other ideas. But with no outs, López hit a run-scoring double. The Amigos had themselves a dramatic win.

"Winning is not something we take for granted," López said.
