Acasto Martín subdued the Yauco Corsos, 8-0, pitching a 7-hit gem for the Maricao Cafeteros at Parque de los Corsos.

"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Maricao skipper Ernesto Camarillo said afterward.

Martín registered 2 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in his superb performance.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Yauco manager Jaime Rivera after the defeat.

To date this season Martín sports a 13-15 mark with a 4.16 ERA in 29 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .300 batting average and has 52 strikeouts in 240.1 innings.
