Dailey Goes Wild, But Browns Win
Cleveland got a terrific game from right fielder Vince Dailey. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to St. Louis, 12-8. Dailey went 4 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Picking up the win was Jack Stivetts. He went 7 innings, allowing 8 runs on 17 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 5. St. Louis raised its record to 84-53 with the win.

Piggy Ward, who finished 4th in the AL in RBI with 92 in 1892, helped out the St. Louis cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a bases-clearing triple. For the game, the third baseman was 2-5 with a triple, while scoring 2 and driving in 4.
