Brewers Lose Late, 7-6
The Cleveland Spiders overcame a fine performance by Milwaukee right fielder Sam Thompson to defeat the Brewers, 7-6, at League Park I. Thompson was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. Cleveland reliever Cy Young picked up the win to move to 2-4. Hank Gastright suffered the loss. Today's win puts Cleveland at 41-66, while Milwaukee falls to 45-62.

The game came to an abrupt end with one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Hank Gastright, Vince Dailey drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It gave Cleveland the 7-6 win.

"This place was rockin'," said Dailey.
