Starting pitcher Toad Ramsey pitched well enough to help the Boston Reds beat the Cleveland Spiders, 6-3. The Reds go to 50-38, putting them third in the American League.

With runs few and far between, the Reds had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Boston came in the top of the sixth inning, when shortstop Chicken Wolf delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Sid Kitson and made the score 2-0, Reds. Wolf went 1 for 3 with a hit by pitch.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ramsey told the Boston Times.
